All the beauty gurus have this concealer and love it. I asked for the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer for Christmas last year because the hype is unreal. I'm light enough that I think I could get away with 8B, but I don't want it to be laughably bright, and I'm having trouble finding swatches of the two side-by-side to compare.Home » Makeup » Tarte Shape Tape Concealer review Makeup, Makeup product reviews Tarte Shape Tape Concealer review 22nd August 2018 Vanilla is slightly too dark AND too yellow.įor Tarte, 12N Fair Neutral is all I've ever tried and I'm curious about both 12B Fair Beige AND 8B Porcelain Beige. It seems to pull more yellow in the swatches I've seen, but I'm worried the peach from Affogato would be too dark. So I don't know if it was too "light" or just a bit too yellow. I tried Chantilly in the past and it didn't seem to match, but it was a VERY long time ago before I knew anything about undertones OR blending, and I tried it with a mismatching foundation (Nars Sheer Glow in Mont Blanc which ALSO pulls slightly yellow on me). I've looked at swatches, but I'd like more insight.įor Nars I'm torn between Chantilly or Affogato. Where I need help: I want to try a different shade in both Nars AND Tarte and I'm stuck on what to buy. However as the Tarte formula tends to be a bit drier on me than the Nars, I might want to try the Nars again to see if the formulas will play more nicely. Normally I've used it on its own on bare skin, and if I blend it well, it works fine, but when I have an actual matching foundation the color mismatch is glaring. Now, my Tarte tube is super old and dried out and that's probably responsible for the formulas not mixing, but the color isn't working anyway. Problem: The Tarte concealer is not playing nice with the Morphe foundation, both color-wise and formula-wise. "Neutral pink" doesn't seem to be a thing for most brands, but it's the best description of my undertones. Purchased it recently and couldn't be happier. "Fair with neutral pink undertones" and it is literally my skin. My "OMG!" PERFECT match foundation: Morphe Hint Hint Skin Tint in Hint of Ivory. Because of this, I've been using the Tarte exclusively for about 2 years. Neither have been a perfect match, and both have pulled slightly yellow, but the Tarte is a better match than the Nars both in color and shade. My two faves: Tarte Shape Tape in 12N Fair Neutral and Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla.
